Twelve years of war. Millions displaced. An economy in ruins. And yet, while the bombs may have stopped falling, the siege on Syria continues — through one of the harshest sanctions regimes in modern history.
In today’s episode, Brian Rose speaks with Tarek Namo, an American-British-Syrian entrepreneur, geopolitical advisor, and international public figure, who is on a mission to change how the world engages with Syria.
Tarek serves as Co-Founder of the American Syrian Chamber of Commerce, Board Director of the Syrian American Alliance for Peace and Prosperity, and Managing Partner of Richmond Hill Capital, a cross-border wealth and real estate firm, operating across the U.S., U.K., and Middle East. His work spans from high-level diplomacy to on-the-ground economic development. He led the first post-conflict business delegation into Syria, played a key role in the lifting of U.S. sanctions under the Trump administration, and continues to advocate for a pragmatic, humane, and law-abiding approach to rebuilding a nation long isolated by global politics.
As Gulf states move to normalise relations, and international investors cautiously explore opportunities for reconstruction, one thing becomes clear: Syria cannot recover in isolation.
Tarek believes the time has come to separate political grievances from humanitarian realities — and to recognise that true peace requires access to banking, investment, and international collaboration.
