David Icke is a British author and public speaker, born in Leicester in 1952, best known for his books and talks about who really controls world events. Before that he was a professional goalkeeper, a BBC sports presenter and, briefly, a national spokesperson for the Green Party. His many books include The Trigger, The Answer and The Trap.

The thread running through every Rose/Icke episode is censorship. Icke argues that a handful of technology companies decide what the public may see and hear. His own YouTube and Facebook accounts were removed in May 2020 over his COVID-19 videos, and speaking in 2022 he discussed being barred from the Netherlands and the wider Schengen area.
Speaking in 2020, Icke said the pandemic response was being used to expand state control, move towards a cashless society and damage small businesses. He also questioned the existence of the virus and promoted links to 5G.
In his 2022 book and interview, Icke argues that human perception is manipulated by a hidden force and compares everyday reality to a virtual reality game. He presents self-awareness and refusing to live in fear as the way out.
From 2018 onwards Icke has warned about artificial intelligence, the merging of humans and machines, and surveillance. Speaking in 2025, he said UK digital ID plans and programmable money would give governments far more control over daily life.
