Roger Frampton is a British movement coach, author and former fashion model who created the Frampton Method, a way of training that combines bodyweight exercise with elements of gymnastics and yoga. After more than 15 seasons on the catwalks of Milan, Paris, New York and London, he turned to coaching, and his TEDx talk Why Sitting Down Destroys You has been viewed millions of times.
Brian Rose interviewed Frampton once on London Real, in April 2018, shortly after the release of his book The Flexible Body. They talked about his move from modelling to coaching, his views on fitness training and personal trainers, food, creating his TEDx talk, writing the book and the role of mentors.
The interview is listed below with a short summary.
The Flexible Body: Move Better Anywhere, Anytime in 10 Minutes a Day (2018). His only full London Real interview, recorded when the book came out, with his story from model to movement coach and the thinking behind the Frampton Method.
Roger also went through the London Real Business Accelerator. Watch his graduate story: $22,000 in Just 8 Weeks.
Frampton argues that modern, sedentary life takes away the range of movement people are born with. His TEDx talk and his London Real interview both make the case that long hours of sitting leave people stiff and weak in ways they no longer notice.
The Frampton Method puts posture, mobility and technique ahead of lifting heavier or training longer. It draws on gymnastics, yoga and bodyweight exercise and needs no equipment.
His book The Flexible Body starts from natural positions such as the deep squat and builds a short daily routine of stretches, rolls and balances. He presents consistency as more important than intensity.
In the 2018 interview he described how years of modelling left him looking fit but moving badly, and how that pushed him to study movement and change career.
Frampton talked about how advice from a mentor added value even once he was already successful, and why he thinks mentors are willing to invest their time in people who act on it.

The Frampton Method is Roger Frampton’s approach to movement. It focuses on posture, mobility and technique through bodyweight exercises drawn from gymnastics and yoga, and it needs no equipment or gym.
The Flexible Body, published in 2018, is a guide to restoring natural movement in about ten minutes a day. It starts with the deep squat and works through positions, stretches, rolls and balances.
In Why Sitting Down Destroys You, given at TEDxLeamingtonSpa, Frampton argues that long hours of sitting rob people of the strength and flexibility they had as children, and shows how to start moving more naturally again.
