1:15 This is London Real, I am Brian Rose. My guest today is Sanne Ham, recent graduate of our Business Accelerator. Welcome. Hi Brian. Tell us about you. Where are you from and what do you do? I’m from the Netherlands, I’m from near Hague. And now ever since I have joined the Business Accelerator with you guys, so during the process I have started my own business for therapy and coaching, and I mainly focus on anxiety.
1:38 I’m still young, I’m only 21 years old. So before I studied occupational therapy. So I always wanted to go like into more therapy and always helping others with their problem, and especially what I’m passionate about is anxiety and heart disease, because I also have personal experience with that. And so now my mission mainly is to help others with that.
2:11 And so I did quit my study and yeah, aside from that, I always like worked in store for a few years. I always loved like working with people. So that’s what I love most. And what made you think that it was time for you, you know, to take something like Business Accelerator? What was going through your mind to know that I need some mentoring or I need some kind of plan?
2:38 Because I know like starting a business or something is something big. And especially because I’m young and I don’t have any experience in business. So I do have some people I know, but not like big good network that can completely help you with. And I do know, and I always believe in collaboration and helping each other out, and I think that’s what attracted me to the course.
3:02 So they have people help you out, people with experience so they can kind of teach you what they learned. And that’s exactly what I needed at that time. So for me it was perfect timing actually. And why London Real? I’ve been watching the show for a few years now, I think two years. Basically when I sort of get into CrossFit and movement, that’s when I found out about the show.
3:34 I think my brother kind of said one day like you should watch this episode of the Just Move guys called Ido Portal, it’s pretty good. And so I watched an episode and that was actually the first episode I watched, and then afterwards a lot of others. So I kind of knew about the Business Accelerator for a longer time. So that’s why I also could make the decision, because I did know what it was about beforehand, so it wasn’t completely new to me.
4:06 And you joined. And you start this experience for eight weeks. You get into this Facebook group. It’s 150 people around the world. I got video modules. I’m asking you to do assignments, the accountability, on live twice a week. What’s that first two weeks like for you? It was intense and like crazy. At the beginning I was like, oh, what did I get myself into?
4:33 To be honest I was like, I had some moments that I actually wanted to quit, especially in the beginning. No, really. But I did like it at the same time. It was just I was a little scared to do a lot of things because like, except for like the technical stuff and like writing and things like that, everything was out of my comfort zone.
4:55 So yes, that’s why it was so intense, ’cause you’re constantly going in an area where you are doing things you’ve done before. So that’s what made it so intense for me. Yeah, but I did like it at the same time. And like now that you’ve finished the course, what was the biggest win for you? What’s the biggest thing that you were proud of that you accomplished or like something that you learned? Speaking up, ’cause that’s what I never did before.
5:27 I think before I always, I had my ideas, and I had things that I was passionate about, but I never really talked about it with almost anyone, or only a few people like. And now I do it all the time. And yeah, also I never really wanted to be like the centre of attention, and I always kind of wanted to hide or was the person that was more like in the corner, like the introvert.
5:50 And I also learned opening up more. So speaking up, opening up. That was like what was most beneficial for me. Yes, definitely. Yeah, getting out of your comfort zone and just like talking about it. What’s it like, the people in the group, what was your team like, and all these people from around the world you see on these calls and have to do everything with? What is that?
6:19 It was what I found like most fun about the course, because you’re going through so many new things, like you have people you can share it with, you can talk about. They know exactly what you’re going through. So in a short time, you really, even though you don’t even physically see each other, like only through like the webcam, you really get like really connected to those people because you have so much in common during the process.
6:47 And what I liked about our team, that everyone was so different. So that’s why within one week, those people could help everyone, and the other week was more other people helping around. So everyone has their own talents and yeah, so, you can really help each other out. That’s what I like a lot. So it was really beneficial to work in a group. That’s what I prefer. I’m not like one who wants to do things only alone.
7:16 That’s not my style, no. And how was selling? How was doing your own live webinar? And having to do all that? That was so scary. I was so scared. I think before I was about to start, I was like almost backing out. I almost backed out of it and then it was like, no, I’m just going to do it. So I calmed myself down and I did it.
7:38 Selling part was like most difficult for me. So like talking about the subjects is where I feel comfortable with. I do know what I’m talking about and I do know it can be helpful and beneficial for people to hear it. But the selling was more difficult because I’m not used to it. And I suppose it’s not something you do before and you’re really new to it, so yeah. But you did it. Yes, I did do it.
8:06 And you sold products. Yes. How does that feel? Yeah, like afterward that feels really good. Like with me it was also like after my first webinar, I didn’t know people wanted to buy my products. They messaged me afterwards. So at first thought no, not my product. Until I got like messages afterwards. So yeah.
8:31 And what are the next 12 months like for you? What do you want to do with this business? I definitely want to continue what I’m doing right now. I want to improve it. And working on creating a new product. So kind of to take everything I’ve learned. And yes, so what’s most important for me is to continue to put out my message, so I’m going to continue to stay active in social media.
8:58 My main focus now is on anxiety, but also I want to focus more on anger, because I think we have a lot of suppressed anger. And that’s actually, people struggle with anxiety are also people who suppress their anger. That’s kind of what I figured out. So yes, and collaborate, that’s what I found out I love most, collaborating with other people.
9:23 And I think because I’m young, that’s actually my benefit. Like a lot of people actually want to collaborate with someone who’s young. They actually like that. So that is what I love most. And to get my certificates. So I’m also going to go to Australia really soon. So yeah, a lot of new things are going to happen. Yeah, but you can see, working on my business, getting certificates, and collaborating is like the main thing, yeah.
9:55 And how have you changed as a person? You know, if we walked outside and bumped into Sanne who didn’t take this course, what’s she like? Like all those things she would seal up inside. So all that passion, all that knowledge that she gained over the last year, she kept all to herself and she’d not be worth it.
10:19 And what I found out now, that actually in short time, like eight weeks, I already help people. You know, I never expected that. For me it was never was about money. Now of course I like money. Everyone likes money or you lie usually. But it wasn’t like my main motivation. And it was what I think, when you’re actually in a conversation with a coaching session with someone, and you notice how helpful it is what you do, yeah, then you know what you do it for. That’s for me, yeah.
10:59 And to someone who’s watching us now, who’s on the edge, I don’t know if I should join the Accelerator, I don’t know if it’s for them. What would you tell them? To do it, and to face your fears, and to fear something new is normal. Like always when you go to higher level or you go to do something, it will always be there, it will always be present. And fear’s not the enemy.
11:24 It’s always here to teach you something. And more about yourself. And what you know, one of the things you do not want, to figure out what you do want. And you need contrast to grow, it’s normal. Don’t think you’re crazy if you have a lot of fear, it’s normal. Sanne, you are wise beyond your years. It’s great seeing you on those live calls.
11:46 I mean that you showed up, you did the work, and you went all in. So thank you so much. And thank you so much for contributing. And yeah, it’s hard to believe you’re 21 and you have all this knowledge to link and construct your future. And it is about adding value to people’s lives, just like following your passion. And I love this thing about anxiety and anger, and I’m thinking about my own right now. So you must be doing something right. So it’s awesome.
12:11 Welcome to the family. And the next 12 months, we’ll be watching you and your teammates, and let’s do some big things. Okay? Yeah, that’s cool. Alright, thank you. Thank you.
