Full transcript: Stop Trying To Steal Our Freedom
2:29 Brian Rose: This is London Real. I am Brian Rose. My guest today is Judge Jeanine Pirro, the award-winning broadcaster, author, former district attorney, and highly respected judge. You are the host of Justice with Judge Jeanine on Fox News and for three years hosted the Emmy award-winning show Judge Jeanine Pirro. You also regularly appear as a judicial commentator on Good Morning America, 60 Minutes, and CNN. In 2016, you fiercely campaign for Donald Trump’s election and have described the president as quote unquote almost superhuman. You routinely rally against the extreme leftist agenda in America, who you suggest are working to remove individual liberty. Your upcoming book, Don’t Lie to Me and Stop Trying to Steal Our Freedom, examines the president’s impeachment inquiry, the state of the US military, and the road to the 2020 presidential election.
3:11 Brian Rose: Judge Jeanine, welcome to London Real.

For anybody wanting to become a founding member of the digital freedom platform, they can visit freedomplatform.tv to donate and fight with us on the front lines to protect our human rights. Here at London Real, we’ve been a platform for free speech since 2011. And judge, I’m super excited to have you here today. So much I want to talk to you about from the lawlessness going on in our streets to the COVID-19 response to the cancel culture of the left to the deterioration of our freedom of speech both in person and digitally. But you know, all of this seems to be weaponized or being weaponized against one person and that’s Donald Trump. And you know, you recently came out on on your show saying we’ve got a 100 days left to make one of the most important decisions in America, in the world, but you knew him way before he became president.
5:16 Brian Rose: And I’m wondering maybe we start with that. I mean, you know, the man behind the office. What’s he like as a person and what have you seen him become, you know, now that he’s been in the spotlight and has had so many battles to fight?
5:25 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know, I met Brian, I met Donald Trump about 30 years ago. My then husband was one of his lawyers as he was doing real estate development throughout New York. And I remember Donald Trump, the first time he called, I was the sitting DA in Westchester County and he would call at all hours. I mean you I knew 30 years ago the man never slept because he was always working and he was always a very charming kind man you know and he was very complimentary. I mean there was never any of this you know the caricature that people see and hear about now. And we became friendly and my husband and my young children at the time we used to fly down to Palm Beach with him every weekend during the season because we had a house down there and he had of course Mar-a-Lago down there and he had a little table on the on the jet for my children and he would put like a leather cover on it.
6:28 Judge Jeanine Pirro: He said, “This is for Kiki and Alex, my children who are now grown.” And the leather cover was because my son was always pounding things on the on the table. And we would walk down the street with Donald Trump in Manhattan and everyone loved him back then. If it was a hard hat or a police officer, he would stop. He would talk to them. They would say, “Please, you know, we love you. You’re great.” Having nothing to do with politics. This was a long time ago. When we’d go to a restaurant, he would go always go into the kitchen and, you know, take care of everyone in the kitchen, thank them.
7:05 Judge Jeanine Pirro: This was not politically driven. This is who the guy is. And his generosity is unknown to so many people. He’d hear that someone had cancer, he would help them out. He would fly them somewhere. He would get hotels. And I’ve written a few political books, Liars, Leakers, and Liberals. And I think I talk about, you know, some of the generous and charitable things he’s done. And I also did Radicals, Resistance, and Revenge before the last the one that’s coming out, Don’t Lie to Me. And I talk about a lot of this in the book. He was charming. He was kind. He was generous. And he’s Donald Trump. And they loved him, Brian. They loved him. He had a cameo on everything.
7:46 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Everyone in the movies, in theater, in the music industry, in the gaming industry, he was the shining star. And then he made the decision to run for president as a Republican. Everything did a one 180 at that point. Then he became this despicable horrible human being, which shows you how really shallow the same people are who loved him and wanted to be part of his life, wanted him to be part of their shows or whatever they had going on.
8:21 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And then he had the audacity to run as a Republican and they hated him. And what we’re seeing going on today, Brian, is the is the epitome of an effort on the part of the left to destroy this man. But I want to I want to go back to one more thing. I want to talk about Donald and his children. When his children were younger, and I knew them when they were very little. You know, I remember sitting on the plane and he would say, “Okay, when we land, we’re going to go to I think it was Kmart then to buy school supplies.” And I’m sitting there on the plane and I’m, you know, I’m probably reading something and I’m thinking to myself, Jeanine, Donald Trump just said he’s going to Kmart to buy school supplies.
9:00 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Or he would say to one of them if they got, you know, mean to the other kid, he’d say, you just lost your allowance. And I thought to myself, he teaches these kids about, you know, and he and he they have consequences if they don’t behave the way he wants them to. He was he’s a good man. He’s a good man in his soul. And that’s a Donald that I have known and absolutely adored for many, many years. And that’s why I fight so hard for him. Forget about all the fantastic stuff that he’s done in this country. I know the man. He’s a good man.
9:36 Brian Rose: Yeah. I’ve heard him, you know, in a couple interviews recently, and I think he said the night he announced his candidacy, him and Melania were bribing someplace and she said, “I hear boos. I’ve never heard boos before.” And he said that was the kind of start of this. He said before he ran for office, he was in 79 rap songs, you know, hip-hop songs because, you know, like you said, he was he was part of American culture, wasn’t he? He was kind of this guy that people would look up to, but like you said, he was still kind of an everyman even though he’s in the Trump Tower. It’s it was a weird mix. And then I guess when he ran for office, and you’re saying as a Republican, then it was time for the left to tear him down. And that’s what we’ve witnessed for the past four years, right?
10:16 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Had he lost the cultural icon status and in one of my books I talked about all of the newspapers who just fawned over him and it was a 180 within like a month it was like oh this is horrible he doesn’t know what he’s doing he’s a horrible human being and it just shows you know the effort on the part of the left and we didn’t know it Brian we didn’t understand it four years ago we said you know they’re just they’re just hypocrites okay it’s Hollywood they’re hypocrites since the media. But now as we look back on it, we realize it is a dug in leftist globalist issue to destroy what he represents, which is make America great, a capitalist free enterprise system where there is personal accountability and responsibility and freedom that goes along with it.
11:07 Judge Jeanine Pirro: They hate that. And you know, four years ago, Brian, I remember when Bernie Sanders was in the Democrat, you know, group. I call him the Democrat clown car, try and get the nomination to run for president as a Democrat. He said, “I am a Democrat socialist.” And I, everybody went a socialist. Three years later, it’s like everybody’s cool with it. Hey, socialism’s great. You ask the millennials, “Oh, it’s great.” They don’t know the first thing about socialism, but it’s great. And my point in telling you that, Brian, is to show you how quickly America has turned. How the brainwashing, the indoctrination, and not just in America. You could educate me, I’m sure, about the rest of the world.
11:52 Brian Rose: Yeah. And it’s strange you make these characterizations of Donald because I’ve spoken with everyone from Charlie Kirk to Dave Rubin to George Farmer on Friday, who’s Candace Owens’s husband, and they’ve all said he’s the opposite of what the media say. They say he’s fun, he’s humble, he’s really smart, he plans ahead. He’s just not what they characterize him to be. But like you said, this has been their agenda and it’s just gone so far. You know, I’m from San Diego, California, and I’m looking at pictures. I lived in New York City for 4 years. I’m looking at pictures of the West Coast and the East Coast, and I mean, it’s I don’t even think I could live in America right now because I don’t think I could even understand being in that place. I mean, how bad has it gotten to be in that country?
12:35 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know, I live in Westchester County, Brian, and for your viewers and listeners, you know, it is a it’s considered an a very affluent suburban community to New York City. And about three weeks ago, I was sitting in my backyard and I heard I heard the footsteps and I heard the bullhorns and I heard all of the chaos on the street. I live on two acres right behind my house and I said it’s coming and that’s why I said this weekend it’s coming to your city. I don’t care what town, village or city you live in. It is coming. And this kind of thing never happened in Westchester. Remember I mean I was I was an official in this county for 30 years between you know DA judge.
13:14 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I mean I was you know I had the pulse. I knew what was going on. And what’s going on in New York City is with the leftist mayor, Bill de Blasio, who and this whole defund the police movement, they have literally tied the hands of law enforcement. They are threatening to prosecute cops when they make arrests. And I’ll go back to that in a second. And what they’re doing is telling them to stand down. So when there were these peaceful protests that it’s just it’s just an oxymoron. I mean, it’s just ridiculous.
13:52 Judge Jeanine Pirro: But the police were told to stand down when they were looting Fifth Avenue, not to make an arrest. And they purposely, and I speak to very high level people in the NYPD, they purposely were told, “Send very few people there and do not make arrests.” When the police did make arrest, I got a copy of an internal memo from the Manhattan District Attorney and it told his assistant DAs that what they should do is ACD or dismiss the protest arrests, but to look for any police brutality. And that meant to look at those people arrested and speak to them about whether or not they felt they were brutalized.
14:33 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And the priority then turned around to the police who were making the arrest were now the targets and the suspects. And if you follow the thinking through, Brian, then what they’re saying is we’ll prosecute clearly the cops and we’ll give the defendants the arrestes the right to then sue for police brutality. The taxpayers will end up paying the defendants who were arrested because they’ve been, you know, brutalized by the cops and all the stores that were emptied out and looted. They’re just on their own. Nobody protected the stores.
15:12 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Nobody’s looking to reimburse them in any way. And yet the looters are going to walk away with a with a bag full of money. It is it’s incomprehensible. And every night we’re seeing not just the looters in Black Lives Matter, but we’re seeing crime because you’ve got 37 cops in New York City. Every one of them has a gun. They have not been trained on how to effectuate an arrest. They’ve just been told as a result of a new law passed by the New York City council, they cannot touch on the neck, they cannot touch on the diaphragm, they cannot touch here, cannot touch there.
15:49 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And if they do so, they will be prosecuted. So the police don’t know how to make an arrest. They’re not making arrests as a result. And that’s why we’ve seen the crime jump, the shootings jump. I mean, the numbers I hear, it’s just hard to believe. And they’ve already defunded the police budget by a billion dollars.
16:07 Brian Rose: And is it true? Billion and a half. Billion and a half. Billion and a half. And 700 officers have retired.
16:15 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s 800 now, Brian. They had to limit the number of officers trying to retire there. Look, they’ve got a they’ve got a bullseye on their back and they know it and they are subject to prosecution. They’re subject to being maimed and being killed. This is not a job that you want right now. Three law enforcement agents in I think it was Portland had lasers pointed at their eyes just a few days ago. They are likely permanently blind by these anarchists and by these looters. And you say to yourself, where did they come from? Does this happen that quickly? I don’t think so. And you know, as a prosecutor, I’ve never believed in coincidence.
16:54 Judge Jeanine Pirro: But when you’ve got these young looters who during a pandemic have access to bricks and all kinds of pallets of concrete and bricks and rocks. Where did that show up from? No one was building anything. And they’re destroying buildings. That’s being provided to them. Brian, there is this there is a bigger umbrella over all of this. This isn’t just a few young people who said we can’t take it anymore. This is an orchestrated organized effort to take down the United States government and Donald Trump.
17:29 Brian Rose: Are you are you thinking names like George Soros funding this event? Are we talking about potentially Russia, China, bigger bigger players?
17:37 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, you know, the attorney general, Bill Barr, came out and said that there it was not just Antifa, but there were foreign actors involved. Certainly people are looking at all the people that you’ve mentioned, but you’ve got to have evidence and I mean clearly you have to look at those people. Proving it is another issue. But you know I remember I was in a hotel at the million the million mom march or the day that Donald Trump was inaugurated in Washington DC. I was there for the inauguration festivities and I remember being in an elevator with a couple of people and there was a SEAL who was assigned to protect me and there was a young kid who said, “Hey, you’re the you used to be the DA.”
18:17 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And I asked him where he lived and he told me where he lived and he and his friends and his mother were there and I and I said, “Oh, you know how are you doing?” He said, “Oh, we’re loving it. We’re having a great time. We’re going to be here all week.” And I thought to myself, this hotel is $700 a night based on where he told me where he lived. And the way he and his friends and his mother were dressed, somebody else was paying for that. Brian, this isn’t something where people are coming and just saying, “We hate Donald so much, we’re going to spend our life savings to, you know, spend $3,000 in Washington.”
18:50 Brian Rose: Yeah. And if you’re seeing those signs in the physical world, what’s happening in the digital world? And then the problem with the digital world is you can’t you don’t know what’s happening to you. You know, people are being attacked in their own home and they don’t even know that it’s happening. Your brain’s being co-opted with so many of these messages, these images, these narratives that they pull you in and before you know it, you’re making decisions that you don’t even want to make. And that’s what we’re seeing happen to America, right?
19:21 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. There is a there the I’ve always said that political correctness is the enemy of free speech that they have taught us that there are certain things you cannot say and Brian for your listeners I mean I was suspended from Fox News and there was outrage as a result of it and I came back but there are certain things you just can’t say and what I said was a question but be that as it Hey, if it can happen to someone like me, it’s happening to everyone. You go to work and you say the wrong thing, they say you’re hostile.
19:59 Judge Jeanine Pirro: In Atlanta, there was a a gentleman that was shot by police. He had taken the taser. He had fought the narrative was that the police abused him because he was African-American. It was just the opposite when the video came out. And his mother-in-law was working in human resources at a place called Prime Equity Loan or something like that in Atlanta. They fired the mother-in-law because she made people feel uncomfortable. And so there is this group think and this thinking that if they’re not on our side then we got to get rid of them and it’s okay. And that is the lesson that is being o over and over it’s being reinforced daily and that’s frightening.
20:46 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And the second amendment when you have the McCloskeys in Baltimore after they knock down these these protesters knock down a gate to a private area and the security guard is not there. They walk in, McCloskeys have licenses for guns. They take their guns out. Looters are saying to them, “We’re going to live in your house. We’re going to kill your dog. You know, you’re not going to be here.” They were in fear of their lives. They took out their guns. They didn’t they didn’t shoot anybody. They’ve been prosecuted for the illegal use of their weapons. They’ve been indicted for that. So, you’ve got the first amendment free speech under attack willingly.
21:24 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Second amendment the guns, they don’t want you to use them to protect yourself. And during this pandemic, the United States Supreme Court, Brian, just came down with a decision saying in Las Vegas, in Las Vegas, we’re going to let the casinos stay open. We’re going to let the multiplex theaters stay open. You can have as many people as you want at a craps table. You can do whatever you want, but if it’s a church, synagogue, or a mosque, no more than 50 people. We don’t care how big it is. And Justice Gorsuch, a Trump appointee, to his credit, wrote a stinging dissent saying, “Apparently, you know, casinos have more rights on earth than the Calvary Church.”
22:02 Judge Jeanine Pirro: This is a sad state of affairs in America. Brian,
22:11 Brian Rose: I’ve been following that case in Baltimore and it was just shocking to see that they’re now being prosecuted. I saw the footage. I mean, you were in, you know, you were a judge, you were a district attorney. I mean, when you see the law being co-opted like that I mean, how do we get out of this hole? I mean, I guess that’s why I come back to maybe your monologue from, you know, your Saturday episode about the next 100 days being so important in the history of this country. I mean, is this our only chance to reelect Donald Trump? Otherwise, does it just keep sliding?
22:44 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Yes. Yes. There isn’t much we can do. And you know, Donald Trump has made a decision, and I made this clear on my show, and I won’t bore you. Nancy Pelosi the speaker of the House has said, “Oh, he’s sending in the stormtroopers.” Which is a reference, of course, a hateful reference to Nazi Germany. These are simply FBI officers who are protecting in Portland, Oregon, a federal building, which they have an obligation under 40 USC 1315 to protect. Okay. And you know that we’re bumping up some of the joint terrorist task forces, joint gun drug task forces, which I did all the time as as a DA.
23:25 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Okay, this is a perfectly legitimate. What Donald Trump, I believe, has done. Okay. And this is just my analysis is he’s kind of held back somewhat because to me it looks like they’re trying to set up a confrontation where they say Donald Trump is coming in and he’s, you know, he’s destroying us and we got to get rid of him. I mean, it’s all the script is already written as to how they’re going to handle it. So, Joe Biden now who’s running for president who can’t complete a thought or a sentence and is always there with his caregiver, his wife Jill. I mean, you never see him without Jill.
24:05 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know, he’s in his bunker in the basement. I call him bunker Joe. He’s not saying anything. He, as America burns, Brian, this man is sitting in his basement. And when he was asked on a show whether or not, you know, they should move the funds from the police to other areas, he said yes, absolutely. And then his campaign got a hold of it and they said, “Oh, no, no, he wants to he doesn’t want to defund police.” But he already said it and they’re saying, “Oh, no, that’s that’s not what he meant.” Well, the guy if he you can’t trust him for what he what he says, what he doesn’t say, and he’s not fighting the fight for America.
24:44 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Clearly, if Donald Trump does not get reelected, and if he does, it will be an affirmation to him that America, as silent as we may be right now, is desperate for the strong, peaceful nation. This globalist kind of hate that’s going on a burn down the city burned down the country with people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar they hate America these protesters set up an anti-America f America well you know you hate this country why you living here I’m sorry well they’re going to change it you know I think the silent American Americans in 2016 who came out.
25:34 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I think they’re even more silent now because they’re going to lose their jobs. They’re going to end up getting assaulted. You can’t wear a MAGA hat in the United States of America without getting assaulted, spit on, or harassed. There was a Marine veteran in Portland who lives within a few blocks of that courthouse, the federal courthouse that they’re trying to burn down. He came out and he said something, I don’t know, God bless America or Trump or something, you know, the flag. Antifa followed him to his home. There was a man in Kansas, an African-American, and he was African-American. Okay.
26:17 Judge Jeanine Pirro: An African-American in Kansas had a sign in front of his home, you know, love Donald Trump, love Donald Trump, Trump is the only way to say that kind of thing. They shot him in the head dead. And they think that the reason is politics.
26:32 Brian Rose: This is just even hard to imagine. I mean, it’s stranger than fiction and it’s just it’s a crucial time right now. Tell me more about Biden because we see this guy who is refusing to debate and I was there ever a time in modern presidential elections where the two candidates didn’t debate and also we also hearing he’s 15 points ahead in the polls. Is that true as well or is that the same polls that predicted Hillary was going to win?
26:50 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, you know, number one, it could be the same polls that predicted Hillary was going to win. Or number two, as as I referenced, if you think people were quiet about Donald Trump four years ago, they’re scared. They’re scared as hell right now to say, “I support Donald Trump.” And I also think that the idea of Joe Biden not debating, they’re going to use the pandemic, Brian. They’re going to use the pandemic as a reason to not have a debate, to not have any of the rallies. The rallies and I know the president, the rallies are the energy that he gives the audience and the rallies and they give back to him.
27:39 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s essential. When we see other Americans excited, we get excited. And I’ve been at those rallies and I’ve actually spoken at a rally, got in trouble for that one, too. But I try to stay out of trouble. I really do, Brian. It just comes to me. Anyway,
27:54 Brian Rose: What did you learn from that judge? What did you learn from that trouble you got in where you got taken off the air, like you said, for asking that question? And then you got brought back, you know, but you’re still out there every week, you know, telling it like it is. I mean, how do you walk that line? Do you walk a line or do you just do you just go for it?
28:14 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s a It’s a hard line to walk, Brian. I’m not going to say any more than that. I have a job. Yeah. Love my job. I have to be able to speak to people. I now have a radio show that I just started. I apologize about the dogs, but we’re all in our we’re all in our homes. I have a radio show and I love my radio show and I got to get you on my show and I got to get you back on Justice. But let me tell you a little about Joe Biden. Joe Biden is a liar. He is a plagiarist. He’s an embarrassment.
28:54 Judge Jeanine Pirro: He can’t put together a single thought or a concept. Joe Biden plagiarized pretty much his whole professional life, whether it was Neil Kinnock. He absolutely picked up the same speech that Neil Kinnock used about his family and the coal mines and that. And then he lied about, you know, he was fighting with someone and he said, “I got a full scholarship to law school.” Well, he didn’t. And on and on and there are like 10 places where he’s plagiarized while he was in politics, not as a young kid looking for a job. You know, kids, they bump up their resumes, their CVs.
29:32 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know, he also is on the wrong side of most issues. He is, you know, he’s all good. Look, he was with the Obama administration. He was sitting in the Oval Office when they were setting up Michael Flynn, a three-star general, with a fake investigation and ended up indicting him for perjury, setting him up for to lie and to prosecute him. You know, Obama is part of the deep state of Obama and Biden is part of the deep state. What I’m trying to convince people of is that number one, he doesn’t want to debate Donald Trump. Donald Trump can make mince meat out of anybody.
30:11 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Joe Biden is afraid of him. He’ll use a pandemic. I think it’s hysterical when he and his wife come out together and they’re wearing their masks. You know, they’re they’ve been housed together since the pandemic started and they’re wearing masks together. When they come out, what is the point of the mask? The point of the mask is to basically kind of dehumanize. It’s to, you know, frighten people. You don’t know who’s behind the mask. It’s to give people cover. It’s exactly what the anarchists and the protesters need. You know, it strikes fear. There’s something going on. There are all kinds of subliminal messages to that mask.
30:54 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And, you know, he’s always in that black mask. And as far as I’m concerned, Joe Biden’s history, his intellect, and the people that he is supported by, the most leftist progressive, like Bernie Sanders says he’s the most progressive Democrat candidate for president. He believes in the Green New Deal where they want to take planes out of the sky. They want to stop us from eating meat. They said because of the flatulence of the cows and you know the emissions, the carbon emission, give me a break. But they want to control us, Brian. This is about control. And Americans in our DNA is this is not in our DNA to be controlled.
31:38 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And you know, Bubba in Texas and middle America may not be talking now, but I’m telling you, they’re going to be talking in November. The only problem is this. With illegals being given the right to vote, and you say, “Well, illegals can’t vote.” There are states that allow them to vote. They give them licenses. What is a license? It is a point of identification within which you can then sign up to vote. You can motor vote, vote, and register on the same day. Why did Obama not purge the voter registration rolls for eight years? So he can leave dead names on those voter registration rolls so people can vote in the name of the dead the guy who died eight years ago.
32:13 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know there’s all kinds of moving pieces here. Joe Biden cannot compare. He’s been in the swamp for 40 years and he wants to talk a big game. What has he done? Nothing. He has done nothing. And he says that he supports police. Police all went with Donald Trump. The National Organization of All Police Associations support Donald Trump and that’s big in this time.
32:49 Judge Jeanine Pirro: He supports sanctuary cities. Sorry, I could go on. You got no.
32:49 Brian Rose: And so and so what do we need to expect in the next 90-some days and then what do we need to do? Because obviously they’re going to try to avoid the debate. They’re going to throw some more things here like you said maybe illegal immigrants trying to register to vote. What is the country, if everyone’s listening to you right now and saying, you know what, I think Judge has a good point here, what do we need to do to fight back against this?
33:15 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I think what Americans need to do is to dig in and recognize how important this is because if we lose this election, Brian, America will chart a leftist course like Venezuela. Okay? And Bernie Sanders, who was one of the biggest advisers to Joe Biden, used to love Venezuela. He said that’s a classic example of socialism. He had it on his website as a senator. Now they’re eating zoo animals. Women are giving birth in the street. People need to understand what’s coming if Joe Biden gets elected. And that means they have to not only make sure that they vote, they have to make sure that everyone they know votes. And they have to be careful.
33:56 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I really believe that people need to take advantage of the Second Amendment. When police are defunded, you call 911. You know what? It may be that no one’s coming. You got to get a gun. You got to learn how to use it. Be prepared to use it. Get a license. Do what you have to do. But you need to protect yourself and your family. It is a different world. But then again, this is America. We were born of a revolution. We have it in our DNA to fight. We have it in our DNA to save this country. But we’ve got to open our eyes and recognize this isn’t just a Black Lives Matter because there isn’t one person in this country that I’ve met who thought that the killing of George Floyd was acceptable.
34:43 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It was murder. And I’d love to prosecute those those cops. And I have prosecuted white cops for killing black men. I’ve prosecuted them. Okay? So, nobody thinks that was right, but you’re taking this in another direction. And I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know who’s funding you, but what I do know is I love this country. You can’t take it from us. And the only thing we’ve got to do is protect ourselves, our family, and stand up to the outrage that’s going on. And the voting booth is the way to do it.
35:18 Brian Rose: How do how do we combat the Black Lives Matter movement? I mean, it’s got these strange fundraisers. You’ve got Bill de Blasio painting the motto on Fifth Avenue in front of Trump Tower. It seems like it boggles my mind that a politician could be in the streets doing this. How do you fight back against this amorphous movement with the with these these taglines and slogans that are hard to argue against? And like you said, no one disagrees about what happened with George Floyd. And yet it seems to be controlling things. They’re pulling down statues, like you said, defunding the police.
35:42 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s what they did in it’s what they did in Germany. You know, you erase the history. You’re telling people, you know, what books are acceptable and not acceptable, what speech is acceptable and not acceptable. You know, you can’t the black lives matter. And there are so many people who believe that the movement reflects the concept that black lives matter. I think everybody knows that black lives matter. Of course, they matter. All right. And then you get in trouble when you say all lives matter.
36:18 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Then they want to beat you up if you say that. All right. But the organization itself is very different from that. You know, they’re they say they’re a Marxist organization that they don’t believe in the family as the, you know, as the core of, you know, the central core of the American culture. They want to change everything. You don’t have to have a fight about that. You know, they are not they’re not pressing the American agenda. And, you know, if you think that it’s okay to paint the streets, if you think that people like Bill de Blasio can come out and say, you know, I want to defund the cops.
37:03 Judge Jeanine Pirro: The cops are racist. I want to paint the streets in front of Trump Tower while children are being killed all over in New York City. He doesn’t even know the name of them. You know, we’ve got a one-year-old who was shot in Brooklyn sitting in a in a stroller during a picnic during the pandemic. He doesn’t know that kid’s name. That black life doesn’t matter. The only black lives that seem to matter are the lives where there is a white person at the other end. And I’m telling you as sure as I’m talking to you, Brian, the African-American community, the Hispanic community, they are petrified of police leaving their neighborhoods because they’re protected by them.
37:43 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And the criminals are emboldened because of people like de Blasio. And he’s there for another year and a half. His wife Chirlane McCray, she says it’s nirvana without the cops. Yeah. While you have your security, get rid of your security. You know, practice what you preach. Walk the walk, not them.
38:03 Brian Rose: Yeah, it’s hard to watch. And I’ve had multiple people on from martial artists to Navy SEALs talking about how when you take away something like the chokehold, it means that they have to then use worse violence. And you’re really hamstringing the police in these situations. And again, that has nothing to do with what happened with George Floyd. This is something that actually hurts the police. And this is in one of the most difficult cities in the world to police, New York City. And then we’re seeing the shootings going up. And then you go on to cities like Chicago and Portland.
38:30 Judge Jeanine Pirro: The interesting thing, Brian, is that the top echelon at the NYPD are saying to me, Jeanine, okay, they passed this resolution of what we can or what we can’t do. Train us. We haven’t had one man trained, one woman trained, and tell us how to effectuate an arrest. Tell us, help us. Because what we’re doing now is we’re letting everybody go because we’re afraid, you know, we’ll call we’ll call the sergeant, then the sergeant call the captain, captain will call the lieutenant, and the guy is long gone. It’s terrible.
39:04 Brian Rose: Yeah. No, I mean, you look at the statistics, there’s like I think the average officer gets two to four hours of training like when they first start and there’s just no regular training when it comes to it. So, you mentioned the masks. I’m curious about what you think about the situation right now with COVID, with the testing, with the response to the pandemic, you know, what are you seeing? Because I mean, now it’s in the headlines, the lockdown is real. We’re seeing that spread throughout the US. What are your thoughts with that? And in addition to the masks and where are we going? Is there a second wave coming? Because this looks like another serious problem.
39:42 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s a very serious problem. And you know, without knowing what the numbers are, you know, you’ve got you’ve got the you’ve got people like the governor in New York, Andrew Cuomo, who insisted on sending infected elderly patients who had COVID back into nursing homes and long-term care facilities. And as a result, the whole nursing home, you know, we’ve got like 10,000 seniors who died. And then Cuomo, the governor, comes out and says, “Well, the federal guidelines force me to do that.” Which is a lie. They lie. I’m so tired of people lying to me. All right. And that was not the guideline. They weren’t forced to do that. Nobody knows what they’re doing. All right. The testing is a problem.
40:24 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know, China ended up they started hoarding the PPE, the personal protective equipment, and then they started sending out equipment. That equipment was defective. Okay? And I haven’t even talked about China unleashing this. And make no mistake, right? They shut their country down off of from Wuhan, okay? They knew what was going on. And yet they wouldn’t let anyone from Wuhan go into Beijing or the rest of China, but they let people leave Wuhan and go to Europe and the United States. And then they lied about it. And then they said, “Oh, no, it’s not contagious.” This all starts with China.
41:06 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And you know what? They gave Donald Trump a trouble. He called it the China virus, the Wuhan virus. Well, everybody on the left was calling it the Wuhan virus for the first month until oh, they woke and they said, “Oh, it’s not fair.” Well, it is what it is. You know, we’ve got the, you know, we’ve got all kinds of viruses, but I don’t want to get into that. Right now, Americans are fed up. They’re fed up with the leftist governors like Cuomo not opening restaurants up, like Gavin Newsom from California, Gretchen Whitmer from Michigan. And when the people in Michigan came out and said, “How dare you?
41:43 Judge Jeanine Pirro: How dare you tell us that you’re going to keep the bars open, the weed dispensaries are open, and yet we can’t go to church and we can’t buy grass seed, but we can buy marijuana to get high. What’s happening, Brian, is this is learned behavior. It is a learned helplessness. And you know, I started the first domestic violence unit in the nation and many, many moons ago when I was a young prosecutor. I won’t even tell you the year. Okay? And battered women learn certain behavior and then they learn to accept it.
42:18 Judge Jeanine Pirro: They’re so beat down by the force that controls them. And that’s what’s happening. That’s what we’re seeing. So when they came out in Michigan in droves, they said, “No more. We want to go to church. We want to paint our houses. We want to put grass seed. We want to go out on a lake.” Who the hell are you to tell us we can’t go out on a lake? Two people in a boat. All right. She said she talked about doubling down these power-hungry leftists.
42:42 Brian Rose: Now, Black Lives Matter, George Floyd, fast forward, Bill de Blasio, the mayor of New York City says, “Hey, no problem. I’m going to shut everything down, but if you’re going to protest for with Black Lives Matter, no problem. You can protest.” How do you make sense of this?
43:06 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know what he said? His quote is, “This is a historic moment. Therefore, you can protest in large crowds, but the rest of you stay home. You can’t go to church. You can’t go to a funeral. Your friend dies, your mother dies, God forbid, you know, you can’t go to a funeral.” Bad stuff. Bad stuff going on.
43:30 Brian Rose: Do you think the mayor believes this? Do you think he drank the Kool-Aid? Or do you think he sees this as the chance to get reelected?
43:37 Judge Jeanine Pirro: But he believes it. Oh, no. He’s a believer. This guy’s a believer. He is inept, inefficient, incompetent, and plain dumb.
43:47 Brian Rose: And these governors, these liberal governors, are they willing, are they intending to sacrifice the economy in order to get rid of Trump and blame him? Are they cutting their nose off despite their face in doing so?
43:59 Judge Jeanine Pirro: They’re doing, you see, they don’t How can you do that? They don’t believe it’s going to hurt them. And I thought about this forever and it’s the best question. Why? Why would these governors do this? And you say to yourself, well, because they want Donald Trump out. They hate him so much because he is lifting the veil from the establishment. The one hand, you know, you know, backhand each other. They take care of each other. The establishment doesn’t even care if it’s Democrat or Republican. It’s like the Bushes are pals with the Clintons. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be, but it’s all about we’re the establishment. This is how it’s going to work. Donald Trump comes in and he’s like hogwash. Who’s the FBI setting these people up?
44:40 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Who’s the FBI setting up a three-star general? Paul Manafort, you know, on a tax thing, putting him in solitary confinement. All of this lunacy to change the course. They tried a coup, an actual coup, a bloodless coup against an American president. And while he was still president, Jim Comey, a disgraced head of the FBI, who’s still walking around, you know, set the president up to indict him. This is crazy. And so you say, to answer your question, well, why would they do that? They hate Trump. Put that one on that bucket.
45:16 Judge Jeanine Pirro: But then they’re going to end up with this leftist kind of world. They don’t care because then they’re in power. They don’t think it’ll apply to them. Gavin Newsom, the governor in California. All right. Governor in California closes the wineries. Okay. Except not his winery. He’s got one. Raise it.
45:39 Brian Rose: Judge, you do you ever think it’s time for you to get back into politics and sort some of this stuff out? I mean, part of you must think yes. I’m sure your friends are saying we need you, judge. We need you. I mean, do you think about that? And do you think you could do something about this stuff?
45:53 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Not in a million years. I ran for office five times. Politics, especially in New York, is a blood sport. And I got all the scars, Brian. Trust me. No.
46:02 Brian Rose: What did you What did you learn from running you know, for running for various offices? I know you ran for Senate in New York and things like that. What did you learn about the process and what really goes on with all of that?
46:13 Judge Jeanine Pirro: That it really doesn’t matter how good you are, that politics is about, you know, relationships and deals. And, you know, I grew up in a small town in upstate New York. I worked in a dairy, okay? And when I came to New York City, I mean, you know, people said I still had hay in my hair. You know, I I traversed very quickly, though. But, you know, I believe in law and order and doing things right. And as a DA, I did everything that I did right. I never used my office or my power. As a judge, I never played games. You don’t make friends that way, but you know what? Didn’t matter.
46:54 Judge Jeanine Pirro: You know, being DA was the best job in the world and I could have stayed there forever and maybe I should have. I mean, I did good stuff, but in the end now I have a somewhat of a bully pulpit somewhat. And I like what I do and I write books and I talk to great people like you. I mean, you know, finding you was great. I think that what you’re doing is great and making friends like you around the world. It’s great.
47:23 Brian Rose: Yeah. No, it’s been great to connect with you and a lot of other people that are fighting for the same type of issues. What was it like being the first female judge in West Westchester County? I mean, you know, you’re also your family’s Lebanese American. I mean, you know, it was it was it difficult to fight and get into that position and then do all the hard work that you did with the domestic abuse. Like, when you look back on those times, what are some of the things you remember and what are some of the lessons you could impart for people that are listening?
47:50 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I have two stories for you. They’re very quick. I was the first person in my family to even go to college. And you know my family always supported me in the sense that as a woman I could go into become a lawyer when people used to think no as a ma as a woman you got to be a mommy. I mean I’m no spring chicken. But I remember the first day I was a judge. I put my robe on and I was so proud. First of all I got different robes. The robes they wear the men wear. They’re horrible. So I had special robes. And I had to I had to go to the bathroom. Okay. So, I realized there’s a judge’s bathroom and it has all the men in the urinals and then the public bathroom where all of the defendants because I’m a criminal court judge.
48:33 Judge Jeanine Pirro: All of the defendants that I just sentenced in their family who hate my guts and I realized that, you know, kind of like to pee or not to pee, you know. So that was a funny story. But they ended up making a new bathroom for woman judge. But and then I remember the male judges going to lunch every day and they never invited me, Brian. They just they didn’t. They were nice to me. You know, I was an assistant DA. I tried cases for years and they always liked me, but Jeanine didn’t get to go to lunch.
49:08 Judge Jeanine Pirro: So I thought to myself, so one day, I sent them all a note and I said, “Come to lunch in the conference room.” I cooked for them. I cooked this incredible meal for them. And young women today will think it’s terrible, but I cooked for them. I brought them cigars. It was back then. And after that, I was never at a loss for a lunch date. You know, it’s like you kind of have to break the ice, not have a chip on your shoulder, have a sense of humor, and just keep dancing because you know what? You’re just as good if not better. If not better. Danced.
49:39 Brian Rose: And tell me about your mom. I know she grew up in Beirut. I visited Beirut. I actually love that city. It’s got so much great energy. And what was she like because she must have really been a great role model for you and told you could be anything you wanted to be.
49:54 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Yeah. Well, my mom, rest in peace, she died in the room above me less than just a year ago. My mom was born in the United States, Brian, and her parents didn’t want a girl and so they sent her to live with relatives in Lebanon. You know, the concept was about to have boys, not girls. And so my mother was robbed of everything in education in America, growing up in America. And so she was my rock. She was my inspiration. She was the strongest woman I ever knew. And she was she supported me in everything.
50:29 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And she was uncanny in terms of her assessment of people and her ability to, you know, she couldn’t read or write, but she had an Excel sheet in her head. She was she was brilliant. She was beautiful, brilliant, and I miss her terribly every day. Every day. But thank you for asking.
50:49 Brian Rose: Wow. That’s incredible. Incredible story. And so the book, Don’t Lie to Me, I mean, you’re talking about a lot of things. The impeachment, military, this upcoming election. What are some of the big lessons or notes that you want people to get when they buy this book and read this book? Is it really all about the next 100 days, or what do they need to really be thinking about?
51:04 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, I think the book is it is a reflection of all the things that have happened probably in the year 2020. You know that all of the craziness, all of the lies, there are a lot of headlines and we stamp lies on the headlines. And the stuff that they tried to sell us and then I kind of counteract it with what’s really going on and the good things that Donald Trump is doing. I dedicated the book and it just went to print today to Donald Trump and I’ve ne it’s my seventh book.
51:41 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And I just had to, you know, they said, “Who do you want to dedicate it to?” I said to the man who has withstood the most incredible forces that tried to destroy him that no man could have withstood it. And the book really is a commentary on the lies of the left and on what we as Americans really want and what if you want you actually you know have to do to get there to get what you want. In the end it’s about how America has changed. I think I have a chapter called on a dime. We turned on a dime. This happened so fast.
52:23 Judge Jeanine Pirro: This was not something that just, you know, oh, it just happened. No, this was pre-planned. This is all pre-planned and the perfect storm of the pandemic where people are down, depressed, down and out. And I kept saying battered women, abused children. I mean, that was my forte. You know, I started the first child abuse bureau in the in the country in addition to spouse abuse. Everybody thought child abuse should be handled in, you know, family court and social services. No, because I was finding kids being beaten to death, burnt, and I won’t get into it, but you know, we have to recognize that the way things are aren’t the way that they necessarily need to be.
53:05 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And I’m not making myself clear there, that things just turned on a dime. That we had to get people out of the house. Battered women are being abused in the house. Children are being neglected. And the one place they go where their their neglect and abuse is recognized is in school. People get depressed. They commit suicide. That alcohol, all the bars are open. The alcoholics are, you know, doing their thing. Marijuana dispensaries. It’s a bad thing. You’ve got to balance the benefits and the risks. We’re big people. We’re big boys and girls. We know. Wear a mask, you know, keep your hands clean and keep your distance. We know it.
53:46 Judge Jeanine Pirro: So, let the young people go out and work. Open the schools. You cannot keep these schools closed. But that’s the you know, and then you’ve got the school, the unions, the teachers are saying, “Oh, we need more money.” Baloney, what’d you do with the money from last year?
54:02 Brian Rose: So, they’re locking us down, masks on our face, so we can’t even communicate with each other. And then they stick on also this freedom of speech issue. And we’re seeing this digitally. You know, this big fight we’ve had over here for the last three or four months where we can’t even say what we want to say. And the only way to communicate now is digitally. And so there’s literally a handful of people, judge, you know, we’re talking, you know, head of alphabet, Dorsey, Zuckerberg that are dictating the entire freedom of speech, you know, manifesto of the American public and the world. You know, I’ve been told I’m one upload away from being completely deplatformed on YouTube.
54:38 Brian Rose: That’s 9 years, 8,000 videos. Quarter of a billion views and because it violates community policy which when I talk to my rep, he doesn’t even know the community policy. They change it retroactively. They’re always making stuff up and it’s got to a point where I call my YouTube channel the Mr. Rogers channel. All I do is put out puppy dogs and unicorns. I can’t talk about anything real. I have to use this digital freedom platform for that stuff, for the real conversations. How dangerous is it? How dangerous is it when they take away our freedom of speech?
55:10 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Then then we’re China. I mean, you know, then we’re a socialist country. I mean, you look, you we’re already experiencing it, Brian. You can’t travel. If you travel somewhere, you come back, you got to be on lockdown or there’s nowhere to travel or there’s no flights. You can’t go out to dinner. You can’t go to games anymore. I mean, our every all of the freedoms that we enjoyed, you know, put the kids in the in the SUV and let’s go see, you know, Auntie Lou somewhere in North Carolina. That’s not happening anymore. And so we’re becoming a beatdown kind of helpless depressed society and that’s a perfect society to prey on.
55:48 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And then the question is, you know, your property that’s next. That is next. You know, if they can take away your freedom of speech, I mean, my god, freedom of speech in the United States of America, how does that happen in the UK? Who are these people? You know, there is a there is a lawyer by the name of Lin Wood who just got a verdict against the Washington Post and he got a settled actually against the Washington Post and CNN for a young kid at Covington High School. He was wearing a MAGA hat and it was at the Lincoln Memorial and the press turned him into, you know, some kind of kid who was creating problem for this poor Native American and he won that case.
56:38 Judge Jeanine Pirro: He’s got six more to go. And I think you’re going to see him, remember that name as someone who was going to be, fighting for the First Amendment as well and defamation and how they are now lying about us. That’s the other side of the coin that they’re not letting us speak, but then they’re lying about us, too. I mean, there are two ways to look at this. And, in the courts, that’s working. And that’s why it’s so important to have Donald Trump. We need judges who recognize what the Constitution requires they do.
57:12 Brian Rose: And what do we do about these digital platforms that are that are hamstringing us and silencing us? What do we do about that? Do we have to fight back with our own platforms? Do you think the free market will bring something up?
57:26 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It has to be your own platform. I mean, there is no way that we’re going to survive. I mean, the handwriting is on the wall. Look, I admire you and respect you, Brian. I don’t know what you know. I don’t have the savvy that you have vis-à-vis you know these platforms but you know just you know generically I’m like no that they’re gonna what end I say to what end why is it so important to not allow someone to work in a place because their son-in-law you know did his job you know why is it so important for me not to be able to say what I think this is America I mean where do you go from here you know UK the common law I mean your country is wonderful I mean it’s got to where do you go
58:16 Brian Rose: My question is now is that say for example Donald Trump gets reelected now we’re back in 2021 and yet we still have all this other nonsense going around the country how do we get through this pivotal and difficult time in American history does it mean that the grassroots people have to stand up and say, “We’re not having this anymore. We’re not going to accept this. We’re not going to be told what not to say. No more political correctness.” Like, cuz it’s going to have to come from more than just the president, right?
58:48 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, I’ll tell you what. I haven’t spoken to the president about this. I mean, we got to get him elected, but I suspect that the president once he gets the okay from the country, and he will. There’s no question I there is no question in my mind that he will be reelected. Then then he’s got to he’s he’s going to get the okay from the American people that we don’t want to live like this. That’s the one message that will come through on this election and he’ll do what he has to do. I’m convinced of it.
59:22 Brian Rose: Okay. And vaccines, how do you feel about that? Because again it feels like we’re kind of all being herded in this one direction and yet a lot of this technology seems to also be owned by some strange characters that have financial interests even some of the institutions I’m just a little hesitant to put untested things in my body without knowing is this just another thing we need to be wary of going forward you know
59:52 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Yes. Look, the president is doing everything that he can. What at Operation Warp Speed and that’s Donald Trump. Make it fast. Don’t tell me you can’t do this in this amount of time. But we just spent $2 billion to get 100 million vaccines. I mean, who are you going to vaccinate? I don’t want a vaccine. I want a therapeutic. You know, until you tell me that vaccine is safe, and only time will tell. Until you tell me what the long-term consequences of that vaccine are, I’m not interested in putting it in my body. And by the way, I’m older and I probably should be one of the people to be vaccinated, but I won’t.
1:00:29 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I’m not going to allow them to do that to me. And then the question is, will you be forced to do it, you know?
1:00:38 Brian Rose: Yeah. Or what freedoms will you lose if you don’t do it? What property will you use? What privileges? And then it’s to the China model where literally they have social scores and if you’re a good boy and girl, you can go on plane flights. And if you’re not, then you can’t and your civil liberties get removed. And you know, I don’t like this potential future. It’s 1984. It’s Orwell and it’s happening right in front of our eyes, Judge. And I just worry that no one’s watching it and seeing it for what it is, but we’ve got the leftist running around cancelling people, trying to rip down everything that it took 300 years to build. It’s I don’t know. It’s hard to watch. It’s hard to watch.
1:01:09 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And you say to yourself, who are these people who buy into this? You know, I mean that all of us despise what happened to George Floyd. It’s disgusting. It’s inhuman. What does that justify? Burning down buildings, looting stores, backing up your SUV to Chanel on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. You know, I mean, if Let me tell you something. There the I’m worried about New York City ever coming back. Okay? It’s the 80s and before all this happened, there was a precinct commander, a deputy inspector I believe of the 46th precinct who left because and this was before all the craziness.
1:01:59 Judge Jeanine Pirro: He left about two months ago before it got really crazy and he said, “I’m leaving because I don’t want to be, you know, working in the real Alamo again.” Alamo in the 80s was the most violent square mile of crime in the United States. And that’s where his precinct was. He was prescient. He understood that it was coming. And he was getting no direction from the police commissioner who was getting no direction from Bill de Blasio who he who with his wife wants to get rid of all police.
1:02:36 Brian Rose: So more dangerous than it was in the 80s which is hard to believe.
1:02:36 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And you remember that city back then.
1:02:36 Brian Rose: Of course I do.
1:02:36 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It is more dangerous. And that’s a very good point because it is the same amount of crime but it’s more people being emboldened. It’s young men now putting guns in their waistband because we can’t stop, question and frisk anymore. Street crime unit, anti-crime unit. All this stuff that we use to get guns, drugs, and gangs off the street is gone. They disbanded that unit. The message is clear. It’s a free-for-all.
1:03:10 Brian Rose: Wow. Wow. What’s next for you, judge? What are the next five years hold? What do you what do you want to do? What kind of what kind of things do you want to do?
1:03:20 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, you know what I want to do? And that’s a good question. I’ve got the next two years lined up. I want to really get my radio show going and but I also want to travel and I guess it’s not the time to travel. I want to sell my house in New York and you know, I’m going to move somewhere. I don’t know where. And I want to I want to basically, you know, declutter. You know, we used to collect things. And I just I want to continue to write. I’m a fighter. I can’t retire, Brian. I can’t I mean, I love talking to people like you. I’m I it’s just it’s instinctive with me. Wherever the fight takes me is where I’m going to go.
1:04:04 Brian Rose: Right. If I were to ask five of your friends, what is the judge’s superpower? Like how are you able to have this incredible career and have this longevity and still be fighting? What would they say it is? What is the thing about you that allows you to do all this stuff?
1:04:14 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Non-stop energy.
1:04:21 Brian Rose: You and Trump,
1:04:21 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Even my people who hate me say, you know, when they’re asked, I remember someone who who was a rather high official was asked, you know, what do you admire most about Jeanine Pirro? And the person hated me and they said her non-stop energy. And that’s it. Like I get out of bed, I’m ready to go. Like what are we doing? And this pandemic is making me crazy.
1:04:38 Brian Rose: Where does that come from?
1:04:47 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I don’t know. Maybe my mom. My mom. Actually, my mom. My mom was 90 living in upstate New York and washing her car, you know. I don’t know. I just I’m happy I’m a happy camper. I get mad when people lie to me. I get very mad when I was a judge, when I was a DA. When people lie, when people commit crimes, I want to settle scores. I don’t like it when people hurt other other people. And I hate it when people lie. And you know, so I will even in the most minute situations like have to find out what the truth is.
1:05:26 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Like that’s that’s a lie. That’s not true, you know, which probably I waste too much time doing. Can I ask you? Well, what’s yours?
1:05:35 Brian Rose: Oh, what was that? My superpower? Yeah. You know, I’m just kind of relentless. Once I put my mind on something, I just go at it every hour of the day. Sometimes I take hits, but the next day I wake up and I just go back in. So, I’m just the guy that’ll keep coming after you, keep coming after you. And, you know, the last nine years, I found something that I love so much. It’s the first time I’ve really been of service in my life. And I finally get it. I finally get what people like you were doing for much of your life where you’re being of service. You know, when I was a kid, I thought it was all about me and my Wall Street career was all about how much money can Brian make and it just didn’t make me happy, Judge.
1:06:12 Brian Rose: But once I started being of service and putting out messages and inspiring other people to make change, it’s given me this new passion and unbounding energy. And then when I tack the relentless on top of it, then it becomes a some say a winning combination depending on how we’re doing.
1:06:33 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Oh, yeah. I would probably say that as well. I would say that as well.
1:06:37 Brian Rose: Couple other questions. What was the best day of your life and the worst day of your life, Judge?
1:06:43 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, I think I think that you know any any mother would say best day is when your kids are born. But I in addition to that, best day of my life was when I woke up the morning after I won the election to be district attorney. And I just remember screaming and just stomping and jumping up and down, you know, when when I when I became a prosecutor. I mean, I was a sole woman and you know, I was always the sole woman. And so they put me in the appeals bureau and they wouldn’t let me you know that because that’s I was law review so they put me in the appeals bureau.
1:07:22 Judge Jeanine Pirro: But then all the guys would get out of the appeals bureau and they go to local courts and try cases, misdemeanor cases, and they just wouldn’t move me. And so what I did was I the guys used to be upset because they wanted to go out drinking on Thursday nights and but they had court. So I used to say to them, and this is before they computerized everything, I said, “I’ll go handle your case.” And they said, “You can’t try a case.” And I said, “Well, yeah, maybe I can.” Yeah, and I’ll put your name on the file. So, I snuck around and I tried cases and I put the guy’s names on the files and I, you know, for two years I was winning cases left and right, but I was in the appeals bureau during the day.
1:08:02 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And I remember getting called in and the chief assistant said, “Who do you think you are? And what makes you think you could try a case?” I remember saying, “But Mr. Facelle, I want all my cases.” And I said, “And you know how you know how I won?” I said, “Because I read all the transcripts of all your trials and you were the best trial lawyer, Mr. Facelle.” So, so anyway, it my point is it was a fight. They didn’t want me to try cases and then they didn’t want me to try murder cases and then when I got pregnant, they were like, “You can’t go into a courtroom pregnant.”
1:08:43 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And then I became the boss. But I was good to everybody. But it was it was a tough climb. And I won all my cases, all my and I started the domestic violence unit, the child abuse, spouse abuse. And I tried murders, rapes, and violent felonies. And I loved it. I loved the fight. And but when I became DA, it wasn’t a fight. I was basically running the office and you know, setting policy. But that was still great. So anyway, that was the best day of my life. And the worst day when my when when when my mom died.
1:09:32 Brian Rose: Okay. I’m sorry for your loss.
1:09:33 Judge Jeanine Pirro: So, thank you. And we all go through it, Brian. We all do. She was my she was my rock. She was my core. And you know, I’m lucky I had her for so long, but you know, I miss her every day.
1:09:48 Brian Rose: Yeah. So, what would we be surprised to learn about Judge Jeanine? Something that you do that, you know, we wouldn’t know from your career and watching you on Fox, like something you like to do.
1:10:00 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, I work out a lot and, I just got my Soul Cycle bike because I can’t go to Soul Cycle anymore, but I bake. I bake a lot during the pandemic. I had two pigs as pets, you know, pigs. Yeah. 180 pound pigs. Oh wow. And I had for like 16 years. I was reading the book Charlotte’s Web to my kids when I was a young prosecutor. And they said, “Mommy, mommy, can we have a Wilbur?” That’s the name. Wilbur was the pig in the story. Charlotte was Charlotte’s Web. Charlotte was the spider. And I said, “We’re going to have two Wilbur.” So, PS, the husband leaves, the kids leave.
1:10:44 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s me and the pigs, the four-legged ones. And I had them for a long time. I enjoyed them. I like farm animals. I love animals. All of them.
1:10:56 Brian Rose: 180 lb pigs. That’s quite a That’s quite a challenge.
1:11:00 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, yeah. If you need to get them to the vet, it’s a real challenge. But I used to have a ’63 bug-eyed Porsche, which is low. And I used to put like a ramp, like a wooden ramp to get them in the because how do you get them to the vet, right? It’s not like you can pick them up. So I’d get him to walk in the ramp into the low Porsche and I’d have an apple with peanut butter. Pigs love peanut butter and they love a apples. So I’d get them and then I’d be driving, you know, on the highway to take my pigs to the vet. And I remember stopping for gas once, Brian. And there were some people they were like, you know, like she’s crazy, but that’s okay, too.
1:11:42 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s a little crazy. It was a little crazy.
1:11:44 Brian Rose: What’s it like to be parodied by Saturday Night Live? That’s quite a badge of honor. You know, a lot of people would would pray for that kind of thing. And do you ever think you’ll show up to Weekend Update and, you know, slap those guys around?
1:11:57 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, first of all, I think it’s hysterical. I mean, I really do. I don’t take myself seriously, and I love to laugh, but, you know, there are consequences. They parody me as this over-the-top screamer loud and I am. I’m a New Yorker. I’m an in-your-face toe-to-toe New Yorker, right? So then they decided to make me like a drinker. Now, if I have a glass of wine once every two weeks, that’s a lot. I really am not a drinker, but they’ve got me spitting out alcohol with martini glasses and everything else. So, I mean, it’s still funny. I think it’s hysterical, right?
1:12:34 Judge Jeanine Pirro: But then you post a picture of yourself in front of the White House. So before Christmas, we did a a little segment on the Christmas the chef’s kitchen in the White House at Christmas time. It was wonderful. So my producer takes a picture of me in front of there and he says, “What should we say?” I said, “I don’t know.” You know, on social media, like where am I? You know, it’s clear I’m in front of the White House. So on social media, at the at the Betty Ford rehab clinic, at the clinic, at this at that, and people believe that stuff, you know, would ask me if I care.
1:13:12 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I mean, no, I don’t care. I know who I am. And it’s kind of And you know what? They get the dresses. They call the guy that I get some of my dresses from. They say, “We’re doing Jeanine Pirro. She wore your dress. Can we get that dress for free?” And the guy who makes them is my friend. He says, “No, you got to pay for them.” So, but it’s fine. It’s fine. You know, I’ve had I’ve had a long career and you know, a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff. When it’s all said and done, I had a lot of fun. It’s a good life.
1:13:51 Brian Rose: Yeah. What scares you?
1:13:51 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Nothing. I’m not a I’m not afraid, you know, I’m not afraid of dying. I think a lot of people are afraid of that. I have six guns. I know how to use them. I got long guns, handguns, you name it. I mean, I kids to be healthy, you know? I worry about that. But I’m happy. I have dogs. I’m not scared.
1:14:28 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Yeah. Watch them come to my house tonight and burn it.
1:14:33 Brian Rose: And what And what keeps you awake at night?
1:14:37 Judge Jeanine Pirro: My brain. My brain. It just doesn’t shut down. There’s so much going on. There is so much to read. There’s so much to know about what’s going on. And I worry sometimes that because I’m home, I don’t feel like I’m in the mix, you know, like I’m not in New York City. I’m not seeing what’s going on. I’m not talking to people, you know. I’m not feeling it. It makes me crazy, you know. I want to be a part of it to be a part of something. But it’s because, you know, I want to I want to know the changes.
1:15:13 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I want to know what the concerns are, you know. I do worry about my kids in New York City. Both my kids live in New York City. That scares me.
1:15:21 Brian Rose: And you’ve been taping the show from home like everyone’s been remote and you miss being in the mix and in the city and being in the studio and just having your finger on the pulse.
1:15:29 Judge Jeanine Pirro: It’s a totally different energy, Brian. When you’re in the studio, you’re at a desk and you’ve got guests who come in and you talk to them and you talk to the stage manager, the floor guys, the camera guys, the producers in your ear, the sound guys in your ear. You know, it’s like it’s life you’re living. This is this is not the life I want. I don’t like this.
1:15:55 Brian Rose: Yeah. I don’t know how you do it. It’s what you do is about 10 times harder than what I do, you know, because you because you’re there and you’ve got, you know, five or six minutes with each guest and you got to get the best out of them and it’s live and it’s remote. I mean, man, it’s the how you knock those things out every week is impressive.
1:16:12 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Well, it’s not it’s not just that. You know what’s difficult? When you have to do your own hair and makeup and I’ll tell you a funny story. The first time here here’s an example of Saturday Night Live. So, the first time they sent a remote, they didn’t have the studio set up. They put me in some dark truck in my driveway with two guys. Okay. So, I did my hair and it was a mess, right? And you know, and I did my own makeup and I never done makeup for TV. I did my regular makeup because the professional women do the makeup. So, you don’t have to do that. You take your hair, one, two, three, one, two, three, you’re done. With us, it’s like, is it too high? Is it too low? Is it tease? Is the color right? Whatever. So, I’m sitting in this truck and I’m getting ready and the teleprompter is going backwards and I’m saying there’s something’s going on in my brain and the teleprompter’s backwards and then the guy in my ear is saying go and I’m like, “Welcome to Judge Jeanine.”
1:17:02 Judge Jeanine Pirro: And there’s nothing going on and I can’t see anything. So, I’m in the dark. So, the guy then they switch to somebody else for five minutes and then they come back to me and the monitor jumps up. Brian and I can see myself and I’m like this in the monitor. So the guy in the truck I’m going like I’m hitting my leg. I’m going like to get his attention like to straighten me up in the monitor. Right. Well, next day I wake up. Judge Jeanine was drunk last night. What? I was drunk Saturday Night Live.
1:17:43 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I mean, it’s like you try to do your hair and makeup and try to read a teleprompter that’s going backwards on a monitor that’s black with a guy who’s not listening to you in a dark truck when it’s raining outside. Let me know how it goes for you. Well, I hope I was in every newspaper and I’m like, I should sue. I should sue. I’m not a drunk. Everybody knows I’m My girlfriends are like, Jeanine, have a drink. You know, I should get drunk just over that. They say there’s no bad press, right?
1:18:18 Judge Jeanine Pirro: So, but I hope there I hope the Saturday Night Live people watch this. So, right back at them,
1:18:18 Brian Rose: You know, judge, I always finish with a few final questions. I’m going to ask you now if you could pick up the phone and call up the 20-year-old Jeanine and give that young woman some advice based on everything you have accumulated over the past x number of years. What would you tell her?
1:18:40 Judge Jeanine Pirro: What a great question.
1:19:10 Brian Rose: Such a powerful message and I appreciate you breaking it down for everyone out there. You know, it’s you know that first amendment, that second amendment is just seems like something you learn in history class until you actually have to use them and you need them. And who would have thought in 2020 they would have been so vital to us and right in front of our faces where literally you can’t say what you want to say and literally where you actually might need to protect yourself. You know, again, like you said, four years ago, we would have never thought that those would be so crucial in our day-to-day life, and now they are. So, I hope people heard your last message and really understand this concept of freedom that we throw around a lot. But now it’s such an important time to understand for it and fight for it.
1:19:51 Brian Rose: You know, it’s not free.
1:19:53 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Yeah. And Brian, you are you are reminding people of that every day. And I appreciate the opportunity to be on with you. And I don’t do this very often. I don’t, you know, I kind of do my thing. But I think that what you’re doing is so important that it was definitely worth worth my time and my energy today because you’re very important in terms of getting the message out in the world. The world needs to know this is not normal. And if you’re caged emotionally and mentally and physically also, you’re like a dying breed.
1:20:29 Judge Jeanine Pirro: I mean, it’s this is no this is no way to live, but it’s been fun.
1:20:36 Brian Rose: Well, thank you for saying that and thank you for having me on your show as well, like all of my followers were just like really impressed that you put me out there and talked about what we were fighting for. And it’s fascinating because as I listen to you this past hour or 90 minutes, so many things you talk about is what so many of my guests talk about on our digital freedom platform that I can’t talk about on the YouTubes and Facebooks and Instagram of the world. So, you know, you’re you’re you’re saying all the right things. You’re way ahead of your time as you always are. And Judge, you’re a legend. So, thank you for everything you’re doing. And I would say keep fighting, but I know you’re going to keep fighting. So, no worries.
1:21:13 Brian Rose: No worries. So, I appreciate everything you do. Like I said, thank you for having me on and thanks for being here and speaking your truth. And look, let’s get these messages out. But I am hopeful that the American people ultimately will will get this right, but it’s going to be a it’s going to be a fight.
1:21:29 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Be a fight. You’re absolutely right. And I loved having you on. We’re going to have you on again, Brian. Thank you.
1:21:35 Brian Rose: All right. Fantastic. The book is Don’t Lie to Me and Stop Trying to Steal Our Freedom. Pre-order it on Amazon or wherever you buy books. And thanks so much, Judge. Wishing you all the best. And next time, let’s do this in person.
1:21:45 Judge Jeanine Pirro: Okay. Would love it.
1:21:45 Brian Rose: All right. Deal. Thank you. Bye. Thanks so much. And thanks to everybody for watching. We’ll see you next time on London Real. Take care.
