Full transcript: Justin Skibinski on London Real

0:00 This is London Real, I am Brian Rose. My guest today is Justin Skibinski, recent graduate of our Speak to Inspire course. Welcome. Thank you, thanks for doing this. Tell us about you. Where are you from, what do you do? Well, I’m originally from north New Jersey. When I was 16, I moved to Charleston, South Carolina, because I was pursuing a tennis career. And then stopped doing that, and kinda just stayed in Charleston, went to college there.

0:32 Every time I leave that city, go to Vegas, or Boise, or some other place, LA, I always end up coming back. So that’s what I’ve been doing. Okay. And what was going on in your life before you joined the course? What was going on internally, externally, that made you seek out the Speak to Inspire? Well, probably eight months ago, I’ve been doing really good with the entrepreneur stuff, internet marketing, everything kind of was clicking, but I got into this mystical meditation stuff, hardcore, just it all clicked.

1:08 It all just started making sense like eight months ago. And I was constantly looking at all the stuff that’s being posted on Facebook, and Instagram, and YouTube. A lot of it’s not positive and stuff, and I was like, I need to get stuff out. I need to get this information out, and I start trying to make a YouTube channel. And I’m making my videos, and one video, for a six minute video, is taking me hours and hours to post, and I don’t know what I’m doing, and editing is terrible.

1:35 And then I see a Facebook ad for Speak to Inspire, how to be a public speaker, and I was like, that’s what I need. Go and buy it. That was it. Yeah, that was it. And why London Real? I don’t wanna sound like a jerk or anything, but I didn’t know who you were six weeks ago. I didn’t know London Real. You sounded legit, in the webinar and the video sales letters and all that stuff, so I was like, I’m gonna give Brian a shot, and I’ll go watch his videos later and make sure that everything’s good.

2:13 And I mean, it was just instinctual, and it was the right decision, definitely. Cool, man, that’s a good data point for me. That’s nice to hear. Yeah. Tell me about the course. You pull the trigger, you join, you got the first two weeks. I throw you in 75 people around the world, a private Facebook group, I’m asking you to upload videos, we got the live calls, throwing a lot of work your way. What’s that first 14 days like?

2:37 First 14 days was feeling out the group, because I know that I’m a huge ball of energy. I’m super positive and stuff, and usually it’s me, talking to everybody and stuff, and then just realising that I’m not even the most energetic person in my group. It’s like, oh my god, these guys are amazing. And then it’s like, you know, you don’t wanna let them down and stuff, so you’re making sure that your videos are coming out.

3:02 The big thing for the first two weeks was, I had my way that I wanted to do things, and it wasn’t the right way. So I was getting the videos out, and they weren’t getting, you know, people were liking them and stuff, just because we’re trying to keep everyone motivated, but my message wasn’t coming out right, and I knew that there was something wrong. I just couldn’t figure it out, for those first two weeks. Luckily, by week five, it was like, you have your aha moment, late week five. But those first two weeks were pretty confusing.

3:32 What was your way? Like what do you mean by that? Well, the big thing that I say is, that the aha moment was, that this isn’t Speak to Lecture, this is Speak to Inspire. So I was going on there, and I’m making these nine-minute long videos, and I was cutting down to get to nine minutes. And I’m trying to tell everyone this cause and effect, and this is that, and natural law, and meditate, and all this stuff, and then it’s like, whoa, chill out.

4:01 Just inspire, get them motivated. That’s all you have to do. You don’t even need five minutes to do that. Yeah, don’t kill them with information. Yeah. Yeah, okay, nice. Big struggles on the course for you, besides that? Any of the modules or the structures that you had a hard time with? I think the storytelling was easy, once you figured out how to just tell a story.

4:27 But thinking about something that happened that was negative was scary, ’cause the worst thing that ever happened to me really was when I got fired, and then I had to do the speech. And that was like, just remembering that, I totally forgot about that. It’s not something I think about. So I was like, ah, this feels terrible, to think about this. And then other people are, you know, Vikram is talking about his friend dying and stuff, and I’m like, man, this is emotional stuff, and I was worried.

4:57 Like if I’m feeling this for just being fired, what is Vikram feeling and stuff? And I wanted to see how everyone was feeling and everything. So that was the challenge, was having to bring up those skeletons and just looking at them, and how am I gonna talk about this without crying? Right. Do you think they can be useful, going there? Yeah, definitely. Okay. Definitely, it helps connect.

5:22 What was it like last night, being here, meeting 30 of your classmates, giving your speech, and then also listening to the speeches? What was that like? It was awesome. When you see people on video, for whatever reason, it’s just like when you see somebody in a white lab coat. They are a celebrity to you. It doesn’t matter if it’s Anthony Filipovitch. No one knows who that is, but it’s like, I just met Anthony Filipovitch live, in real life.

5:46 I met Brian, and Vikram, and all these people, and it’s awesome. And they’re having the same experience looking at me too, and it’s just like, this is a great time. It’s like we already knew each other. I mean, Kuren talked about stories that we knew, that even his girlfriend and wife didn’t know. So it’s like we all knew each other, and it was so open and everything. It was great. The group is the best part about this course.

6:11 Yeah. What was it like giving the speech? How did it feel? Well, I was lucky. I came on the 12th of December, and I rented a car, and it was my first time driving in London, or in England, which was ridiculous. I was trying to get to Brighton, got a little lost, got into a snowstorm. And during the snowstorm, I just kept doing my speech over and over again, just yelling it.

6:33 And I was getting frustrated, so that’s why the curse words started getting involved in it. So when I went on there, it was perfectly memorised. I didn’t really feel any nerves or anything. Felt good. Okay. And what was it like to watch everyone give their speeches? The first ones, the ones before me, I really wasn’t able to listen, ’cause I was focusing on myself. I wanted to get it out as early as possible. I was able to relax and enjoy everyone else’s.

6:59 It was nice to see everyone remembering where they started, when I saw their first video, and then just being like, wow, Caroline, just completely transformed. Julianne, completely transformed. All of us. It was just so great to see that transformation, just six weeks. I know, right? And it’s crazy, right? I know, and the quality was really high, you know? I mean, it was only one or two people that had to stop, or use notes, and everybody else was jumping in there.

7:28 So talk to me about the next 12 months. What are your plans for your speaking? What are you gonna do with this? I know a lot of people signed up to be public speakers. My thing was to sign up so I could start just throwing out content. And the huge thing was the Facebook Lives. When we switched to Facebook Live, and you just push the button, and it’s done. I’m gonna be doing that.

7:50 I’m gonna stick to three videos onto YouTube a week, then the next month, four videos, all the way up until I’m doing one video a day, and just keep pounding out. I’m not gonna care about, I’m just gonna care about getting content out. I’m not gonna care about subscribers or anything like that. Just getting positive content out, help people out, and that’s pretty much my goal, is 365 videos a year.

8:15 Alright, I like it. And what about your classmates? You gonna stay in touch with them? Oh, yeah, yeah. I got a pretty intense goal. Some other people, Susan and a few other people, Jiao, has similar goals. They wanna keep posting to YouTube and stuff, so we’re gonna stay on each other, make sure we watch each other’s videos, and stuff like that.

8:35 But I mean, Jeff’s parents live in Charleston, so he’s gonna be coming over in January, and so we’re gonna be partying. I mean, these guys are gonna be my friends. They’re essentially family, at this point, so we’re gonna stay pretty close. Yeah, it’s strange how that happens, right? How have you changed, personally? Like if we walked down the street right now and bumped into the Justin that didn’t take this course, how is that guy different than you are?

9:03 I think the big thing is trusting other people. My last speech was, I didn’t even write it. Dominic was like, hey, you got this. I had all this crap that I was gonna talk about, and then Dominic was like, you have a speech already, just talk about that experience. So just trusting other people to do the work for me, and just listening to them, you know?

9:27 Sometimes when you’re doing internet marketing and you work from home, and you don’t even leave your house for six days in a row, the idea of having somebody else come in and give you an idea is like, you don’t know what you’re talking about. And then Dominic just goes in and just tells me what to do, and it’s like, oh, these guys are awesome, you know? Vikram telling me to stop lecturing, and it’s like, and everything clicks. You just gotta trust other people, let them help you. Yeah. Yeah, really good observation, wow.

9:54 Last question, to someone who’s thinking about taking this course, but isn’t sure, not quite sure if the tribe is for them, and all of that stuff. What would you say? Just coming from, very clear, I wanna make it clear, I’m not biased. I didn’t know who you were six weeks ago. So it’s not like, I remember Terence talking about, he was nervous even just talking to you for those 15 minute things that we did, or those five minute things we did. Just do it.

10:21 It’s really not that much money, and the return, the ROI is just ridiculous. You really just gotta do it. I don’t even know how to explain it. The people that you meet, alone, is worth the investment. But then on top of that, you’re actually learning a skill that you can take, and mould, and do something with it that can really help other people.

10:46 And now when you go on camera, or if you go on stage, it’s like you’re the man, and it’s all because you did just six weeks of work, just 18 videos. We just posted 18 videos. It’s a no-brainer to me. I’m waiting, I’m patiently waiting for Business Accelerator ads to start showing up so I can sign up for that, and yeah, there’s no question that this is something that you should do. And just make sure of, when you’re going in, to be positive and post videos and be active, and everyone will start jumping in, as well.

11:21 Yeah, yeah. Justin, you have a great stage presence, and great camera presence, so I know once you tap into this emotional piece, I think you’ll really start connecting with people in a big way, you know? And again, less about the information, and more about the inspiration. And then they will listen to the information, once you get them over that emotional piece. So I’m super excited for you, to watch. You go into daily vlogging, which is a crazy beast.

11:46 Thanks so much for all the energy you put in this group, and for keeping it positive, and Team Rose has been absolutely incredible. So thanks for joining us. You got a lot of London Real episodes to watch, now. Oh yeah, I do. I do have to check that out. And I guess we’ll see you next year, as well. Cool, man, as we say, it’s about the journey. Let’s keep crushing this, and make the next 12 months amazing, alright?

12:03 Cool, and thank you for making this course. It’s not an easy task, to make a course like this. You’ve made several of them now. You’re welcome, man, look, we take a huge pride in trying to make these things absolutely amazing. We got great team leaders. We got great people that help us put all this information together. We just wanna see you guys crush it, that’s all we want.

12:27 I hate to jump in on this, too. I buy courses that are around your price range all the time. This one, far and away, exceeded any other course. I’ve bought a five thousand dollar course. Yours is way better, way, way, way better. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. What makes it better? It’s the group. It’s the fact that you forced us into these groups, and then you made it into a competition, so we had to be with each other, you know? We had to be there together.

12:54 And then we’re all talking, we’re doing separate private messaging together, and now we’re doing, every week, we did our own private group meetings and stuff. No other course does that. It’s always, you’re by yourself. When you get unmotivated to do it, you don’t do it. But if you get unmotivated at Speak to Inspire, there’s gonna be three people messaging you saying, what’s up, you know? Yeah.

13:20 Yeah, look, we found something really incredible here. We stumbled on it. I think it’s like the London Real ethos, and the people that are in there, that just kinda make it happen. So yeah, thank you for noticing. It’s just amazing. It’s why we’re so excited when graduation comes, because I feel the energy in that room. And you guys feel like family, too, ’cause I’ve been watching you breathe and struggle and all that.

13:43 Yeah, we’re planning on doing some really big things, and hopefully just getting more people doing great things with their lives. I look forward to being a part of it and checking it out. Thank you, Justin, I really appreciate that.
