Anthony Scaramucci is an American financier, author and commentator, born in Port Washington, New York, in 1964. He founded the investment firm SkyBridge Capital in 2005 after working at Goldman Sachs, and in July 2017 served for 11 days as White House Communications Director under Donald Trump.

Scaramucci argues that Bitcoin’s fixed supply of 21 million coins gives it store-of-value properties similar to gold, and that wider adoption will push its price higher over time.
Speaking in December 2022, after FTX collapsed, he called it a case of embezzlement rather than a failure of crypto itself, and compared the industry’s swings to the dot-com bubble. SkyBridge had sold a 30% stake to FTX earlier that year.
In March 2024 he said the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs and the involvement of firms such as BlackRock marked a turning point. He described a cycle in which Bitcoin’s price at each halving, multiplied by four, has roughly marked that cycle’s peak.
