I just signed up for LRA a week ago. So here’s my pitch for my in home personal training and nutrition coahcing services. Feel free to give me some constructive feedback:

Great video Ted-ryce! very energetic and it answered a lot of the questions that popped into my head as I listened to you. One thing you could consider is to stand up when you tape yourself.. Good luck!

Great challenge and I definitely needed it!! Joined last night and have been going non-stop focusing and taking massive action on becoming a KPI and being Oversubscribed. Read both books a couple weeks ago after watching Brian’s interview with Daniel. Will finish my new website and book within the next 2 weeks for my micro-niche! Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks everyone, this is exactly what I needed!!!!!

Hi Matt. I had a look at your video and i totally understand what it is you do. What I fail to see is the energy you put into your writing above translated to your speaking. Where is your passion? I understand Tony Robbins jumps the trampoline before he does a talk to get that energy in. I also fail to understand your USP. Why are you better / different from others? Hope it helps!

Here is my pitch. It’s not really about me, but about the company I want to work for. It’s primarily targeted at Chief Learning Officers or HR managers who are looking for ways to support the development of their employees.

Good! I understand what it is and would be interested myself actually.. Just .. I disn’t get the name of the company. Maybe you could pronounce that better.. and ehm.. stand up when you speak. Well done!

Great challenge.

I make sure that that there is a harmonious relationship between buildings, their occupants, and the environment. I optimize the synergy among factors that affect the livability and healthfulness of your home or office, including never-before considered contributions to stress, respiratory health, and influences on behavior. I have placed among top finalists in national design competitions and made key contributions to a multi-million dollar study on indoor air quality. My team is on the vanguard of re-engineering buildings as intelligent structures designed to benefit individuals and society at large.

Thanks for the feedback Jon, will take a look 🙂

This is my pitch (or as one of my mentors called this, a ‘value proposition’) from the landing page of my website.

The short form pitch I am playing with is:

‘To introduce meditation into every primary school classroom in the UK’

Great interview with Daniel Priestley, Brian. I have read all three of his books before he was on London Real and much of my business plan comes from his work since starting up this year.

Hi James!
That’s a really interesting and thought-provoking pitch; the project sounds great. I thought the whole thing came alive at the 25 second point when you say that you help schools to become better environments and how it improves things for staff and students. I wonder if that might be the best point to start with, in fact, so that listeners are immediately drawn into the pitch and want to know HOW they can get these great results that you’re offering. This fits with a really great video @andrea posted on the LRA facebook group, too: http://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action
Cheers! Jon

I’ll take that challenge! I’ve spent the last couple weeks working on my companies Business Model Canvas and think I know what we’re all about…
Still, recording this was TOUGH. Thanks for the push.

Hi Phil! Nicely done – and a lot more composed than my own gabbling… I think you bring out a lot of the most interesting aspects of what you do, but (and forgive the repetition from my comment to James), it would be more effective to lead off with the ‘Why’ you do what you do and offer what you offer as per the TED talk which @andrea shared. When you got a little into that towards the end where you mention that no one else provides this service, I felt myself sit up and become more engaged; I wanted to… Read more »

Where’s this TedTalk you’re referring to?

Also – it seems that comments are not subscribed to. I had no idea you’d responded to me (and I assume you won’t know I’ve responded to you either!)

Hi @psmy!
Yes, I didn’t see your reply till I headed back to this page just to have a look, so sorry for the delay! This is the TED talk I was mentioning: http://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action
Hope it’s interesting!

Thanks Jon. Good points!
It’s hard to squeeze it all into 1 minute 🙂 I’m going to work on a new version. I’m starting to look for partners, participants and investors so I have to get this down.

Thanks again

Hey guys, This challenge prompted something of an existential crisis for me as I’m not an entrepreneur (yet!) or running a business trying to sell something. But there’s a lot about what Daniel Priestley covers that speaks to me and makes me want to work with and understand how I can integrate his tools into my life. So, here’s what I have for a pitch about me and what I do (yes, I know the video, lighting & obvious reading is all shit, but I’m looking to develop the content of what I’m saying for now 🙂 ) – thanks… Read more »

Great pitch, great structure, nothing to add..

The only thing I would mention is excitement. Try to show people how passionate and excited are you about the idea you are presenting. However, I know it’s hard when you are speaking to camera, I have the same problem =)

Sebastian Mantey

Hi Jon, nicely done! To get a better understanding I outlined your pitch as following: • 00:00 – 00:20 presentation • 00:20 – 00:28 vital moments of change; understand what humans are capable of • 00:28 – 00:35 goal: ivory towers • 00:35 – 00:57 influence of history on each of us; WHY not WHAT • 00:57 – 01:16 HOW, worst and best For me personally the strongest part is from 35s to 57s. I especially like the focus on WHY and not just WHAT. I also like how you phrased your goal (28s to 35s). Those two parts, I… Read more »

Hi @sebastian-mantey! Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my pitch and for the feedback – that’s all really helpful and I’ll look at what did again and think how to improve it with your feedback in mind. It’s great to hear what stood out for you; I’m way too used to speaking to academics within academia – I know how to press their buttons, but not other people’s so much (and of course it’s the latter I want to talk to, ultimately!). I didn’t actually see the Simon Sinek talk about the golden circle until after I’d… Read more »

Well done for putting yourself in front of the camera! It’s good to “meet” a fellow student of history/humanity.

Cheers, Dre! We can discuss how one takes this sort of thing into the exciting-sounding realms Dan Peña shouts about and others keep talking about in LR interviews this Friday, perhaps!

Pitch for my new blog and mentorship program, that I’m starting next week =) Please give my some feedback and let me know what would you change.

Thank you guys and regards from South Korea =)

Jon Waterlow

Hey @jure-sutar!
You got in there first and made it real – great work! I agree with Dre that you should slow down a little bit so that you can put emphasis on the most important parts of your message. It was a little difficult to follow your flow because of that, so just a little more time spent putting emphasis (literally stressing particular words or phrases, like ‘and THAT’S why…’) would get things across more effectively. Really nice job, though!

@jonathan-waterlow
Thanks for the feedback! Totally agree with you and Dre =) I’ll improve it and upload a new video this week.

Andrea

Well done dude! My main feedback would be to slow down and be more deliberate.

Thanks for the feedback =) I’ll try to improve it and put on a new video this week!
