IRONMIND is the story of my challenge to race the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon with just 90-days to train on a 100% plant-based diet under the guidance of the hardcore punk icon John Joseph (lead singer of the Cro-Mags).
Making this movie forced me to confront the dark demons from my past, including a struggle with drug addiction.
This was something I’d kept hidden for years, but in 2018 I told everyone in my life that I had survived a heroin overdose in 2001 in New York City.
Let that sink in for a moment.
It took me 17 years to tell my biggest secret.
I had kept this from everybody. I was running London Real and nobody around me knew about it. My wife didn’t even know. But then John Joseph walked into my life.
John challenged me to run an IRONMAN race and in the midst of all of that, he also helped me share my story.
This is why we created the IRONMIND movie. I figured if I shared my darkest moments, it would also help other people face their demons.
