Dorian Yates – Evolution Of The Shadow

Dorian Yates is an former professional bodybuilder who was crowned Mr. Olympia six consecutive times, from 1992 to 1997, and holds the fourth-highest number of Mr. Olympia titles of all time.

He is widely considered to be one of the top athletes in bodybuilding history, and he is the most popular guest in the seven year history of London Real.

He was also featured of our very first documentary film: “Dorian Yates – Inside the Shadow” and I consider him to be an important mentor, a dear friend and a powerful visionary.

Why is Dorian selling all this supplement stuff? If he were honest, he would recommend to stay away from this unneseccary garbage and prefer real quality food. On his first videos here he seemed like an honest seeker who finds his philosophy in an alternative way of life. Of course he must earn his life but concerning this now he becomes a commercialist again, who wants to temptate others into a dead end. There is so much he could do to stay authentic instead of this kind of DY-selling business…

He did mention you don’t need supplements when you brought up his business.

The most uninspiring interview of Dorian on LR so far. The guy is just marketing his brands now.

Thanks for another brilliant video guys. I always admired Dorian Yates ‘the bodybuilder’ back in the day. His message about psychedelics and cannabis on LR really kickstarted a change on how I look at the world. It’s always uplifting to hear for someone who is so woke to how screwed up the system is, yet is able to stay so positive. Look forward to the next get-together.

I think it is nonsensical to say that the physiques of the 90s were the best. They were the problem. After Arnold and co Bob Paris had to win the Olympia and not Dorian. The Mass Monsters have ruined bodybuilding.

Every bodybuilder would say his age was the best. Every decade has its own idea of what the maximum expression of the bodybuilding should be, may it be a mass monster of almost 300 pounds on stage, or a more pleasing physique like we saw this year with Shawn. Same as every bodybuilder has a year when he performs at his best, and then somehow deviates from that perfect status, still managing to win a couple of more titles just out of inertia. But Dorian definitely raised the bar in term of dedication, training intensity, diet and, therefore, condition.
