Getting up one hour earlier than usual helped me a lot with my morning routine. But in order to get up so early, I really need to go to bed much earlier.

My video on the early bird challenge. Found that extra hour really helpful, just need to finalise that morning routine to get the most out of it. Any tips on morning routines would be appreciated

I’m gonna flip this on it’s head… not early to rise but – early to bed – because I already get up early…

That’s an interesting thought Pete. It seems like the night routine is given less focus than the morning for what ever reason. Looking forward to hearing the updates

I get up between 4.30am and 5 am so I think I will stick to that otherwise if I have to wake up at 4am I think I will be suicidal.

Ha, I came on here to say the same thing. I’m up at 5 so was going to say 4 is not happening. However, it takes me about 15 mins to actually get up and I have a second alarm at 5:10 so I reckon sitting up and getting straight out of bed at 5 maybe the challenge. I’ll put it to the reelers? Am I cheating, should I go for 4am?

No man, this exercise applies to people who are waking up later, at least 8 or so. It’s about creating more time for yourself, rebooting habits, changing the routine. How much earlier do you want to get up? At some point it is becoming ridiculous. Keep in mind that the cycle needs to be filled with some “content” so that Realers find some value out of it. For every new 4week cycle the exercises are different. Some people will gain to wake up an hour earlier, but not you; you are already THERE. You are doing it. …It’s just about… Read more »

Fair play bud, well said. You’re right, because it is something I developed already. I didn’t always get up at that time. Cold shower it is….

Cold showers are tough but very invigorating. May I suggest to start w/ 20 or 30 seconds at the end of a regular shower. You finish with a 30 seconds cold water “polish” 🙂
It is better to do it incrementally…at least it’s my POV…until you build it up to a minute or so.

Woke up an hour earlier today and made time to meditate, I’m going to keep this up and add some yoga to my morning routine too.

Well for those of you who missed my feed yesterday on the embark, net on this challenge comp, eye with horrid photo of my early morning image, I want to update my progress now two days old with the following….. Using this precious time and resisting placing ,ore value on sleep in place of it I have gotten out some of my old journals to reconnect with that consciousness that I had left behind out of negligence since I USED to get up early just to have this quiet time to think and meditate and envision….. Found my list of 100 blessings… Read more »

I love this idea, thank you for sharing Charlotte. Did you work on an item of gratitude per day or did you just compile as many as you felt as and when you thought about them?
